Under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, the Principal Contractor is responsible for planning, managing and monitoring the construction phase, coordinating contractors, maintaining site safety and ensuring suitable welfare and health and safety arrangements are in place throughout the project.
The Principal Contractor oversees the day-to-day running of the project, coordinating subcontractors, managing programme, quality and health & safety, while ensuring the works are delivered efficiently and in accordance with the contract.
