Station Road involved the demolition of a series of structurally unsound barns and the construction of a high-specification two-storey family home. With a construction value of approximately £800,000, the project transformed a challenging site into a spacious and contemporary residence designed around modern family living. The completed home incorporates three en-suite bedrooms, dedicated office space, a private gym, garage facilities and generous open-plan living areas. Part of the existing dwelling was retained and integrated into the scheme, creating a new lounge and principal bedroom suite.
The existing barns were no longer structurally viable and required complete demolition before construction could begin. To accommodate the scale of the new home while maintaining appropriate site levels, the ground was reduced by approximately 1.5 metres, creating a partial basement arrangement that allowed the full two-storey design to be realised. A further challenge was ensuring a seamless connection between the retained section of the existing house and the new-build structure, both aesthetically and structurally.
Rosewood delivered a carefully coordinated programme of demolition, excavation and new-build construction. Particular attention was given to the interface between the retained property and the new dwelling, ensuring the two elements worked together as a single cohesive home. Quality craftsmanship, careful detailing and close collaboration throughout the build ensured the client's vision was successfully realised.
The completed property combines generous living spaces with practical functionality, delivering a distinctive family home tailored to modern lifestyles. The successful integration of existing and new structures demonstrates Rosewood's ability to unlock the potential of complex residential sites while maintaining exceptional standards of construction.
